Having originally been trained as a tapestry weaver at Edinburgh College of Art/Heriot-Watt University where she received her BA (Hons) Design degree, Jennifer Bennett has since worked with and taught many traditional textile techniques including natural and chemical dyeing, spinning, weaving and felt making.

Studying these techniques, as used by expert artisans in Iran, Turkey and the Caucasus for thousands of years, has given Jennifer a keen appreciation for these traditional communities and cultures expressed through their textiles and, specifically, through their hand woven rugs and kelims.
